Do you remember the last time you received truly excellent medical care? Although it isn't always a common thing to find, you can have better luck by doing what you can to research different doctors and medical clinics. I wanted to share this website with the world, since this is what I have been doing for years. It has been a really excellent journey to find different ways to keep great care of myself, and I know that it is all due to the help of my great doctor. Read more about self care on this blog, so that you don't have to settle for anything less than the best.

Going away to college for the first time can leave you with a lot of questions. If you are living on your own for the first time, you may find it difficult to determine if you should go to the clinic or not. These are some common illnesses college students tend to contract.
Meningitis
Meningitis is a serious health condition that causes membranes of the brain and spinal cord to swell because of a viral or bacterial infection. You may have meningitis if you have chills, a fever, nausea, a stiff neck, and sensitivity to light that may cause headaches.
Meningitis is highly infectious, especially among college students. A vaccine is available to help prevent the spread of meningitis. If you suspect you have meningitis, you should seek healthcare right away. Certain types of meningitis are more difficult to treat than others.
Influenza
Influenza, or the flu, is a contagious viral infection of the respiratory system. Symptoms include exhaustion, body aches, coughing, congestion, sore throat, and fever. The flu can be treated with antivirals in some cases. In the meantime, you can treat some of the symptoms of the flu with warm soup, a warm bath, and decongestants.
Influenza spreads easily on college campuses because students tend to live in close quarters and share a lot of materials, like drinks and food. You can minimize the risks by not sharing utensils and drinks with others.
Mono
Mono is a viral disease that often accompanies extremely high fevers, swollen glands, fatigue, and body aches. The disease can spread easily from close contact with others who have the condition.
No cure for mono exists right now, but a healthcare professional can still take a look at your symptoms and help you recover. You will need to drink a lot of fluids and rest a lot to recover from the condition.
Gastroenteritis
The stomach virus causes inflammation of the stomach and intestines. The symptoms of gastroenteritis include vomiting, chills, headache, loss of appetite, and diarrhea. You need to take a rest when you are suffering from gastroenteritis. Eat simple foods and stay hydrated with fluids. College students can get the stomach virus easily when they live in dorms and are constantly around others.
The walk-in clinic is a great place to go if you believe you have any of these health conditions. Check out your local clinic to test your symptoms and receive treatment.
